Occupational Therapy Assistant at UVM Health - UVM Medical Center

Provides occupational therapy to patients in varying states of health and illness. Applies the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) with individuals or groups to support participation in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings. Promotes health and wellness for patients who have or are at risk for illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation, or participation restriction.
Addresses physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory, and other aspects of performance to support engagement in daily life activities. Functions as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct care to patients. Educates and prepares patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. May be involved in consultative services within UVMMC and in the community. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement of patient care.
Requires supervision from an occupational therapist to deliver services; works in partnership with occupational therapists to develop a supervision plan.
- Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of Vermont
