Aspire Living & Learning is hiring compassionate, dependable, and energetic Behavior Therapists to support children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum.
This entry-level position provides hands‑on experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA). No prior ABA experience is required. Aspire Living & Learning provides comprehensive on‑the‑job training, ongoing supervision, and support to help qualified employees pursue Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
Experience in customer service, sales, education, healthcare, business, human services, marketing, communications, maintenance, government, or another field may be valuable in this role.
About the Behavior Therapist RoleBehavior Therapists work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or special education teacher. You will implement individualized behavior support plans, education plans, and service agreements while helping clients develop communication, social, academic, motor, and daily living skills.
Clients may demonstrate mild to severe behavioral challenges, including aggressive or self‑injurious behavior. The role requires patience, emotional maturity, physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in high‑pressure situations.
Behavior Therapists may work in:
- Aspire Living & Learning clinics
- Client homes, as assigned
- Support clients with daily living and personal care routines
- Reduce challenging behaviors through approved intervention strategies
- Collect accurate data on behavior, progress, and skill development
- Apply prevention, redirection, and physical intervention procedures when necessary and properly trained
- Maintain focus and attention for extended periods
Collaborate with behavior analysts, special education teachers, families, and other team members - Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing supervision
- Previous experience in ABA, education, healthcare, human services, behavioral health, or direct support is helpful but not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Vehicle capable of transporting clients in the back seat
- Ability to travel within approximately 45 minutes of Windsor, Vermont
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and coordination
- Willingness to assist with personal care routines when necessary
- Ability to manage multiple details and follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Ability to respond professionally to day‑to‑day schedule changes
- Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience: $20.61 per hour
