Director of Brand Marketing, Upstate ElevatorUpstate Elevator is Vermont’s leading brand of cannabis-infused edibles, extracts, and beverages. Founded in 2017, the Burlington-based company is family-owned and operated and is distributed nationwide. Upstate’s mission is to elevate mind and body, and to make people feel good, by reuniting with the Cannabis plant.
The eCommerce Manager owns the day-to-day management, development, and optimization of all brand websites. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining a best-in-class website experience that supports the business’ goals, ensuring functionality and a smooth user experience across all platforms. The ideal candidate will combine website management expertise, front-end web development skills, and a proactive approach to supporting the digital customer experience.
This job can be mostly remote, but proximity to Burlington, VT will be prioritized for regular on-site collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Website Management & Maintenance
- Update and maintain website content, including products, collections, banners, and landing pages.
- Ensure product pages are accurate and complete, with up-to-date pricing, descriptions, images, and inventory.
- Configure and manage discount codes, seasonal offers, and campaign settings in Shopify.
- Research, install, and manage third-party Shopify apps to enhance site functionality.
- Track, analyze, and report on website performance using Google Analytics, Shopify analytics, and other tools.
- Optimize site structure, metadata, product descriptions, and internal linking for search performance.
Web Development & Technical Execution
- Optimize mobile responsiveness and site performance for a fast, smooth user experience.
- Audit regularly for broken links, outdated content, and technical issues.
- Monitor uptime, functionality, and site reliability.
- Test and deploy updates following best practices.
- Coordinate with developers or vendors for major fixes and integrations.
Technical Customer Service Support
- Act as first responder for technical website issues (e.g., checkout errors, login problems, app/account issues).
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer service issues or escalate to developers as needed.
- Collaborate with customer service and fulfillment teams to address recurring technical pain points. Provide feedback on opportunities for website improvements to enhance the customer experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 4–6 years of Shopify website management and front-end development experience, preferably in a CPG industry.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, UX best practices, and web performance optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort managing website operations independently.
- Experience working with digital teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with tools like Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and basic SEO practices are a plus but not required for ownership of these areas.
