Overview
Become a part of our Racial Equity and Inclusion team. As a bi-lingual / multi-lingual Community Ambassador, you will help clients and service providers overcome language and cultural barriers, while building trust and communication with New American community members. As a member of the Office of Racial Equity and Community Inclusion, the Community Ambassador will work to address agency needs regarding Racial Equity and Inclusion.
The Community Ambassador will provide translation and interpretation services primarily, facilitating communication to and from individuals to help promote involvement in our communities. You will attend meetings where live interpretations are needed and, when needed, provide outreach as well as lead special projects within the language and/or cultural communities in-person or remotely. To be successful as a Community Ambassador, you should be able to think quickly and have a firm understanding of the preferred language.
The Community Ambassador is an on-call position. We are hiring for multiple Community Ambassador positions. Please view our full job description as well as a list of preferred languages:
Community Ambassador
- High School graduate or GED required;
Associate’s degree preferred and a minimum of one year of related experience. - Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role; prior relevant experience and certification in translation and interpretation preferred or willingness to become certified.
- Fluency in multiple languages required; preferred languages will be specified.
