Overview

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) is seeking a Sample Control Technician I to log, track, and manage samples received and shipped to the laboratory, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with procedures. The role may include pick-up/delivery duties, customer service, and routine sample maintenance to support lab operations.

• Receive and unload incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations; verify receipt against Chain of Custody (COC) and resolve discrepancies.
• Log samples into the Laboratory Management System daily to assign lot numbers for tracking and distribute paperwork to Project Managers.
• Label samples for identification by lot number and deliver to appropriate labs for analysis.
• Prepare bottle kits for client sample collection and return, adhering to EPA and DOT requirements.
• Forward samples to other laboratories as needed to run tests not performed at the location.
• Dispose of spent samples, waste, and hazardous materials per established procedures.
• Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures daily in accordance with SOPs.
• Maintain a clean and organized department to promote safety and efficient operations.
• Promote safety and ensure operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
• Stock supplies and assist with inventory to maintain adequate material levels.
• Perform splits and composites as requested; may perform courier duties to support lab and client needs.
• Comply with driver procedures, certifications, and company policies; be willing to be on-call during non-business hours for sampling/delivery.
• Assist in maintaining walk-in coolers and manage inventory of coolers; log outgoing coolers for detailed records.
• Maintain company vehicles used for sample pickups and deliveries; interact professionally with clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by local management.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• DOT certificate may be required within 90 days of hire for shipping hazardous chemicals
• Valid state driver’s license
• Ability to pass motor vehicle background check for driver certification
• TWIC card and TSA clearance may be required within 90 days of hire
• Additional client or location licenses or certifications may be required
• May drive long periods, up to 8 hours per day

Position is full-time temporary, Monday to Friday 8 am–5 pm with possible overtime and weekends. Salary range is $18–$20/hour (DOE).
