Overview
The Nurse Manager facilitates the realization of the organization's mission, strategic plan, and values at the point of care. Plans for, leads, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality care and service for a defined population of patients and facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care. The Nurse Manager demonstrates excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.
The Nurse Manager provides leadership, consultation and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment. She/He collaborates with administrators and other members of the health care team to design, evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes.
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All candidates must have BSN or if Bachelors in another field must have MSN.
ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years nursing experience. Healthcare leadership experience.
