Archaeological Technician Posting Summary
Participate as a member of the field and laboratory investigative team and provide technical support related to field tasks, laboratory processing, data analysis, report preparation, artifact curation and public outreach in support of research in the Archaeology program. Assist Research Analysts and Principal Investigators in archaeological survey, site evaluation, site mitigation, artifact processing and analysis, and prepare maps of archaeological sites and artifact distributions.
Supervise the delegation of day to day work tasks and ensure that archaeological technicians strictly adhere to programmatic protocol in field and laboratory. Reports to research supervisor and/or Principal Investigator.
Bachelor's degree or higher in anthropology or related field and two field seasons' experience as archaeological technician required.
Desirable Qualifications- Supervisory skills including leading crews in the field and experience assisting in the training of field technicians in Vermont.
- Experience with Section 106 processes, GIS applications and report writing highly desirable.
$22/hr to $25/hour
