Perform a wide variety of skilled plumbing functions to include the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of plumbing equipment and systems. Access information utilizing computers. Promote a workplace that encourages safety within the Shop and field. Operate a university vehicle to transport materials, tools, and equipment. May be required to use an aerial lift. Report to a Supervisor and actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and delivering great customer service.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma, Vermont Journey Plumbing license, and one year experience with license in construction plumbing/heating system installation and maintenance plumbing required.
- Backflow Prevention Device Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within one year required.
- Vermont Natural Gas Installer Certification or ability to obtain within six months required.
- Experience using computers and mobile technology required.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check required.
- Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions.
- Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing specific job functions.
- Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening.
- Anticipated Pay Range $25 to $35/hour
- Position may be hired at either the Journey or Master Plumber level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
- Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers.
- Probationary period may be required, occasional evening and/or weekends required (may result in overtime).
- 40-hour work week, external candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period.
- UE ($18.50 minimum hourly rate).
