Position: Director of Coaching – Nordic Soccer Club.

About Nordic Soccer Club

Nordic Soccer is a premier 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization based in Vermont. We are dedicated to empowering youth through high‑quality soccer programming while developing essential leadership skills. Our organization is currently enjoying a successful period of growth and stability, defined by a vibrant community and a reputation for excellence.

Our programs are built on core values of integrity, teamwork, and personal growth, ensuring that every player—from their first kick to their final high‑school or collegiate match—finds a home here. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high‑quality experience for all participants and coaches.

The Vision:
Architecting a Player‑Centered Future

We are looking for a Director of Coaching who views youth soccer as a complex, evolving journey rather than a linear path to a scoreboard. We aren’t looking for a "fixer" to rebuild, but an innovator to evolve our existing foundation.

We prioritize an adaptive, holistic ecosystem where the person is developed as intentionally as the player. Our ideal leader is a specialist in human potential who recognizes that a high‑performance culture is built on psychological safety and a deep‑rooted love for the game. While we provide the runway for U19 elite and collegiate pathways, our daily mission is to master the "Gold Standard" of youth development—ensuring that every player, from grassroots upward, thrives in an environment that values creativity over conformity and growth over standing.

The

Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and passionate Director of Coaching to lead the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of our coaching programs. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of all coaching efforts, aligning them with our mission while focusing specifically on creating a cohesive player pathway.

Key Responsibilities 1. Stewardship of Club Culture & Membership
  • Culture Protection:
Maintain and protect the existing positive club culture, ensuring Nordic remains a community‑focused environment where families feel valued.
  • Retention & Enjoyment:
Foster a genuine love for the game across all age groups, prioritizing player enjoyment and long‑term retention over "win‑at‑all‑costs" mentalities.
  • Community Resource:
Act as a visible mentor to players and a trusted resource for parents, ensuring the "Nordic Way" is felt at every level.
  • Issue Resolution:
Serve as the primary point of contact for complex issues related to coach, participant, and parent interactions.
2. Coaching Staff Management & Development
  • Team Leadership:
Support and manage the coaching staff in their present form while providing the leadership needed to maintain high performance.
  • Recruitment:
Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard a diverse and qualified team of coaches as needed.
  • Professional Growth:
Design and implement a comprehensive, continuous professional development program that empowers coaches to be better educators and mentors each year.
  • Evaluation:
Conduct regular evaluations and observations of coaches, providing constructive feedback and mentorship.
  • Compliance:
Ensure all coaching staff adhere to organization policies, safety protocols, and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration:

Facilitate regular coaches' meetings to promote communication, share best practices, and build a cohesive team culture.
3. Youth Development & Curriculum
  • Grassroots Excellence:
Maintain the energy and quality of grassroots programs (U6–U8), ensuring youngest players receive the foundational skills and encouragement needed to stay in the sport.
  • Curriculum Standardization:
Develop, maintain, and standardize a cohesive coaching curriculum and methodologies for all age groups (U6 through U19).
  • Program Oversight:
Oversee all program levels and work closely with program managers to ensure seamless integration of coaching efforts into overall organizational programs.
  • Performance Metrics:
Establish clear performance metrics and evaluation criteria for coaching program success.
  • Innovation:
Stay current with industry best practices and research, implementing…
