Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and talented Civil Engineer 2 to join our dynamic team. This role will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to design, develop, and implement civil engineering projects to include stormwater, site development and general civil projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with limited experience to gain hands‑on experience and grow their career in a supportive and professional environment.
The position is hybrid, based in our Burlington or Freeland office, at least three days per week.
- Assist in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater systems, and other infrastructure projects.
- Design and assist with design of stormwater facilities.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess project requirements.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Perform calculations and analyses to support project designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Use WWHM for site modeling and stormwater facility design.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification.
- Interested in or already has obtained Washington State PE.
- 2+ years of engineering experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD and MS Office Suite (preferred but not required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Internship or co‑op experience in a civil engineering environment (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices preferred.
- Familiarity with WWHM
2012 is preferred. - Familiarity with the Department of Ecology Stormwater Manual for Western Washington.
