Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Description

We’re hiring Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialists — and welcoming students currently enrolled in O&M Masters’ program; we’d love to speak with you!

Join the mission-driven team at The Carroll Center for the Blind, where you’ll help children, adults, and seniors gain the confidence and skills to travel independently and live fuller lives. What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct O&M assessments and develop individualized instruction plans
  • Teach indoor/outdoor travel skills, including public transportation
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and rehab professionals
  • Serve clients across schools, homes, and community settings
  • Document progress and provide recommendations for tools/adaptations

Qualifications

What You’ll Need:
  • Masters in Orientation & Mobility or active enrollment in a Vision Studies Graduate program
  • ACVREP certification or eligibility
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills along with demonstrated professionalism

$52,015 - $83,308 (Salary for this role varies on client population, education, department & relevant experience)
