Monday-Friday 8-4:30PM, Weekend and holiday on call expectations. On call 4:00pm-8:00pm approximately 2-3 weekdays per month. On call approximately 1-2 weekend day 8am-8pm per month. 1 Holiday on call per year. Servicing Lake Geneva, Genoa City, Lyons, Twin Lakes, Silver Lake, Trevor and surrounding areas Pay Range: $28.55 - $42.85
At least Two (2) units of CPE, accredited by ACPE; NACC units may be considered. 5 units preferred. In good standing with continued endorsement by the appropriate authority of his/her church, faith group or religious institute A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Degrees/ExperienceCompleted graduate degree (MA, MDiv) in religious studies, theology, divinity or related field. A strong background in functional theology and the ability to apply this in a pastoral manner to individuals and families. Excellent communication skills with knowledge of counseling techniques. Ability to identify clients’ needs with consideration to cultural, ethnic, religious, economic, and other diverse backgrounds Experience and compassion in ministering to those who are dying and their grieving families.
Asa Chaplain you will:
Provide comprehensive holistic spiritual care to patients, families, and healthcare staff, including counseling, crisis response, and sacramental support. Assist during emergencies, guides families through illness and end‑of‑life processes and promote patient safety. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in care planning, education, and ethical discussions, and supports staff through consultations and training. Contributes to departmental operations, mentoring, and community outreach while upholding organizational values and maintaining active involvement in their faith community.
Participates in the QA/CQI process for Advocate Hospice. Must be able to travel to all areas within the Advocate Aurora service area in all extremes of weather on all types of roads. Exposed to widely varying social and environmental conditions in patient’s neighborhoods and homes. Required to make visits to private residences which may not be accessible to people with disabilities.
Must be willing to work occasional overtime if needed.
