At Lavelle, our Material Handlers are the backbone of production, making sure every part and material gets where it needs to be on time. Think of yourself as the behind-the-scenes logistics hero, but no capes! This 3rd shift position is fast-paced and hands-on, and the role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Job Responsibilities- Perform unloading and loading of trucks as required
- Process incoming shipments in accordance with procedures
- Use material handling equipment to move materials to and from the receiving area
- Transports and delivers stock/materials/product to and from the appropriate staging /process/storage areas of the plant
- Perform delivery routes as established for the position
- Record and submit accurate production and quality data, work records, etc., appropriate to the position
- Perform department TPM and/or 5S checklists as assigned
- Follow standard work, line clearance, and setup verification procedures relevant to the position
- Follow PPE and safety rules specified for the work area
- Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
- Train others within the work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to comprehend and use measuring devices
- Ability to perform the job and meet production and quality targets consistently
- Ability to use computers and computerized equipment to perform the position responsibilities
- Must possess or be able to obtain certification to operate a forklift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment
