Job Title: Intermediate Accountant / Bookkeeper

Location: Surrey, B.C Canada (On-site)

Opportunity: Our client is a leading organization helping clients with accounting, tax and advisory services with a focus on family business, professionals, construction, retail and manufacturers.

We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our client's team in Surrey, British Columbia. As an Intermediate Accountant/Bookkeeper, you will manage all aspects of the company's financial transactions and bookkeeping duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, excellent analytical skills, and be detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and manage all financial transactions using accounting software such as Quick Books
  • Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
  • Generate and maintain financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and general ledgers
  • Process payroll, including the calculation of payroll taxes and preparation of T4s
  • Process monthly and quarterly GST/HST returns
  • Manage the company's cash flow by monitoring and forecasting upcoming expenses and revenue
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the management team

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting with bookkeeping responsibilities or a bookkeeping role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
  • Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel, MS Office; familiarity with accounting software, including Sage 300, is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a small to medium-sized business environment is preferred
