The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading the entire financial close and reporting cycle, ensuring strict adherence to IFRS/GAAP across multiple business units. This role acts as a key financial steward, providing actionable insights for decision-making, driving process improvements, and maintaining strong internal controls.
What you will be doing:
Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Implement and monitor robust accounting policies and internal control procedures.
Perform detailed account reconciliations, review financial risks, and resolve discrepancies with cross-functional teams.
Provide technical accounting guidance and coordinate all external and internal audit documentation.
Drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
Mentor and support junior accounting staff to build team capability.
What you must have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required (candidates actively pursuing will be considered).
Minimum 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Expert knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, financial controls, and financial reporting standards.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in cost, inventory, and labor accounting.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 CAD
