Junior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented entry-level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Burnaby, British Columbia. In this role, you will primarily support accounts payable functions, working with high volumes of invoices and handling various financial tasks. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days a week onsite and offering potential for growth within our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Process a high volume of accounts payable invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to cost centres.

• Perform account reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the system.

• Manage cheque runs, EFT payments, and wire transfers, adhering to company protocols.

• Handle expense reports and corporate credit card reconciliations, including Amex.

• Collaborate with team members to allocate costs across multiple cost centres using Excel.

• Utilize SAP or similar systems to match purchase orders and process payments efficiently.

• Assist with bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.

• Support the accounts payable function for headquarters and warehouse operations, excluding inventory-related tasks.

• Maintain organized financial records and provide documentation for audits.

• Communicate effectively with internal departments to resolve payment and coding issues.
