OpportunityThe Accounts Payable Clerk – Inland Lease & Rental will be responsible for the accounts payable duties of the Inland Lease & Rental division for Canada and US. This position is also responsible for processing invoices, preparing supplier reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and performing cheque runs.
Your Responsibilities- Perform all aspects of the monthly accounts payable cycle from keying invoices to issuing vendor payments
- Ensures proper accounting coding and tax compliance for all payables in multiple jurisdictions
- Performs weekly and monthly cheque runs
- Prepares interbranch and intercompany journal entries
- Analyzes various general ledger accounts as assigned
- Assists branch personnel with accounts payable inquiries
- Sets up wire transfers for expense claims and large vendor payments
- Sets up bank deposits
- Prepares bank reconciliations and accounts payable supplier reconciliations using Excel
- Electronic filing of cheques and accounts payable
- Assists with all vendor inquiries regarding AP
- Communicates all potential issues and/or problems as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic post‑secondary accounting education required, certificate or diploma preferred
- One to three years of related experience and/or training
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Superior attention to detail is essential as well as the ability to identify and resolve problems
- Must be able to multitask, handle multiple deadlines and prioritize
- Must possess superior customer service and the ability to remain professional and composed under pressure
The salary for the role is between $45,000 - $52,000, based on experience.
