Discovery Organics is an independently owned Canadian distributor of 100% organic produce. We are proud to service independent supermarket and natural food stores throughout Western Canada and value the relationships that have been built with our customers over 20+ years.
We are currently looking for an entry level Junior Bookkeeper to join our diverse team.
About the Role:
- Process accounts payable including expense report from coding & entry and issuing monthly billbacks
- Reconcile monthly accounts and support month-end close procedures
- Support the processing of biweekly payroll for 60+ employees in a timely and accurate manner including maintaining company benefits.
- Perform cost and sales analysis reports
- Collecting incoming received orders and posting & matching invoices
- Assist with preparing weekly AP payment incl. wire transfers setup
- Daily bank reconciliation incl bank deposits
- Assisting in general administrative duties such as answering vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner and filing documents.
Experience &
Qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong initiative and excellent problem-solving skills that can work under deadline pressures in a fast-paced environment and be able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent computing skills – Excel, World and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude with eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting field
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting is preferred
- 6 months – 1 year AP / bookkeeping experience would be an asset
- Knowledge with Payworks and ERP systems like Silver Creek / Visual Produce Pro, is a bonus.

Job Type: Full-time – Monday to Friday
