Senior Accountant - Manufacturing
Financial Leadership:
Lead, review, and analyze the financial close and reporting processes across multiple business units to guarantee accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
Audit & Compliance:
Coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing all necessary documentation to support seamless audit workflows.
Process Optimization:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing accounting efficiency, data accuracy, and overall system performance.
Risk & Controls:
Monitor and enforce accounting policies and internal control procedures while identifying and mitigating financial risks.
Business Partnership:
Act as a key strategic advisor to internal stakeholders, providing sound technical accounting guidance and operational support to guide decision-making.
Reconciliations & Variance Analysis:
Oversee the completeness of account reconciliations, addressing variances, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.
Team Development:
Mentor, train, and guide junior accounting staff to enhance team capabilities and ensure standard system processes are followed.
Ad-Hoc Projects:
Support various interdisciplinary initiatives and handle other duties as assigned to support organizational growth.
What you must have:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A Canadian CPA designation is required (candidates actively pursuing their CPA will also be considered).
Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting roles, ideally within an industrial, production, or cost-accounting heavy environment.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep expertise in IFRS/GAAP principles, internal financial controls, and complex reporting standards.
Analytical
Skills:
Strong problem-solving capabilities, specifically regarding cost accounting, inventory, and labor/material variance analysis.
Systems & Tools:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and robust experience navigating enterprise ERP systems.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex financial concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Salary/Rate Range: $110,000 - $115,000
