We are in search of a Project Coordinator who will report to the Project Manager, BEL Contracting. As part of a team working on various large civil infrastructure projects across the lower mainland, you will be supporting project management and field operations.
Duties & Responsibilities- Promoting a work environment where the safety and health of all employees, subcontractors, and individuals is paramount.
- Coordinating, tracking, and reporting on various project functions including health & safety, environment, quality, costing, subcontractor progress, and scheduling.
- Taking project progress photos, quantity measurements, managing hydrostatic and pneumatic utility testing, and coordinating sample taking and lab testing.
- Working with Forepersons and Superintendents to ensure accurate completion of daily crew reports for payroll and equipment time processing.
- Analyzing job costing and helping to produce accurate budget forecasting.
- Working with the procurement team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and services.
- Working with senior staff to develop, assess and improve project management and operations systems.
- Collaborating and assisting Estimators with estimating, including maintaining accurate bid lists, participation in the estimate review and bid wrap up process.
- Helping with quantity take‑offs, quote solicitation, comparative table analysis, WBS development, and estimate entry.
- Civil Engineering undergraduate degree or Civil Technologist diploma, combined with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Projects skills.
- Ability to work in both an office and field environment, with frequent local travel to work sites, some without convenient access to public transit.
- Ability to work to deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Able to work outside of normal work hours on occasion to meet the needs of the business.
- Confident communicator, with a good work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Valid Driver’s License.
The role is a permanent, full‑time position with a typical starting salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per annum. Variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
