Technical Maintenance Technician

Position: Technical Maintenance Housing Technician
Metro Vancouver Housing seeks a Technical Maintenance Housing Technician in Burnaby. This full-time position centers on managing capital improvement projects and enforcing quality standards.

As a Housing Technician, you will lead inspections and oversee various building systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role demands critical thinking and solid experience in project management, particularly within multi-family residential settings. A background in construction engineering is preferred for effective oversight of projects valued up to $10M.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct building and system inspections for compliance

• Create project scopes, specifications, and cost estimates

• Liaise with contractors and manage project timelines

• Document progress, including “as constructed” drawings

• Train subordinate staff and ensure safety adherence

Requirements:

• Grade 12 and post-secondary diploma in relevant field

• Six years of relevant construction or maintenance experience

• Thorough understanding of the BC Building Code

• Ability to assess contractor work quality and direct improvements

• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
