Match Box Consulting Group is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join its growing residential division. Known for delivering thoughtfully designed, high-quality communities, this developer has built a strong presence across Metro Vancouver with a significant pipeline of projects in both planning and active construction.
Position OverviewReporting to the Site Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will play a key role in supporting day-to-day site operations on residential high-rise projects. This individual will help ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules, design specifications, and quality standards.
This role is well-suited for someone with strong field experience who is looking to step into a leadership-focused position with increased responsibility and exposure to complex, large-scale developments.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Site Superintendent in overseeing all on-site construction activities, including coordination of trades, suppliers, and labour
- Assist in managing site crews, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to project timelines
- Review ongoing work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, building codes, and company standards
- Monitor and help maintain construction schedules, identifying and addressing potential delays proactively
- Promote and enforce health and safety policies, contributing to a strong safety culture on site
- Prepare and maintain daily logs, progress reports, and production records
- Assist with maintaining up-to-date project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, drawings, and subcontractor records
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with trades, consultants, and internal teams
- Attend site meetings with project stakeholders including consultants, architects, and engineers as required
- Assist in organizing and coordinating concrete pours and related activities
- Liaise with municipal inspectors and consultants, supporting inspections and ensuring compliance
- Contribute to overall site organization, cleanliness, and operational efficiency
- Perform additional duties as required to support project success
- 6–8+ years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in roles such as Lead Hand or Foreman
- Experience working on concrete high-rise residential projects is strongly preferred
- Red Seal certification or equivalent hands‑on trade experience is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities in a site‑based environment
- Solid problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with concrete take‑offs is an asset
