Position: Plan Checker 1 and 2 Required
Become a vital team member checking building plans for regulatory compliance. The Plan Checker position focuses on detailed regulation adherence to building codes.

We are seeking candidates for Plan Checker 1 and Plan Checker 2 roles, requiring relevant diplomas and experience. Responsibilities include examining construction and conversion plans, issuing permits when compliant, and maintaining communication with applicants. Ideal candidates will have in-depth knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review detailed construction plans for code compliance

• Issue building permits once requirements met

• Document and discuss non-conforming items with clients

• Address counter and telephone inquiries regarding codes

• Prepare routine reports and maintain project records

Requirements:

• Diploma in Building Technology or similar training

• Familiarity with local building codes and laws

• Ability to interpret architectural plans accurately

• Effective communication with architects and civic officials

• British Columbia Driver’s Licence is mandatory
