AECOM Buildings + Places, AECOM’s Architectural business, is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our team. This position will be based out of our Burnaby office with remote/hybrid work options permitted. This position is for a newly created position.
AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.
Major Responsibilities- Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations.
- Prepare specifications, reports and related data tables.
- Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
- Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
- Under some supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate to high complexity.
- Have limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
- Be introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.
- Have intermediate to advanced understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.
- Be introduced to the process of performing material take‑offs for the discipline.
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
- University Diploma or degree + Four (4) years of experience as or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications- Skills:
Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and strong communication abilities are essential.
- Company paid relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
