We are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Lighting Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a creative and technically skilled designer who is passionate about lighting design and enjoys collaborating on dynamic, high‑end projects.
Position Overview
The Intermediate Lighting Designer will support the development and execution of lighting concepts and documentation for a variety of hospitality, residential, and commercial projects. The successful candidate will work closely with senior designers, clients, consultants, and project teams to deliver thoughtful and technically sound lighting solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of lighting principles, architectural coordination, technical documentation, and design presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop creative lighting concepts and design solutions for interior and exterior environments in CAD, AGI, and Revit
Prepare lighting layouts, fixture specifications, schedules, and technical documentation
Produce presentation materials, mood boards, and design packages for client review
Coordinate lighting design with architectural, interior design, and engineering teams
Review reflected ceiling plans, architectural drawings, and shop drawings
Conduct fixture research, sourcing, and product evaluations
Assist with lighting calculations, control coordination, and specification reviews
Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination, and project presentations
Support procurement and installation coordination throughout project execution
Perform site visits and assist with lighting focusing and final adjustments when required
Ensure projects are completed within timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Qualifications
3–6 years of experience in lighting design, architectural lighting, or related design fields
Degree or diploma in Lighting Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline
Strong understanding of lighting design principles, fixture applications, and lighting controls
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
Experience with AGi
32, Dialux, or other lighting calculation software is an asset
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills
Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
