AECOM is seeking an Architect AIBC or an Intern Architect AIBC to be based in Vancouver BC, Canada. This position is for a newly created position.
Responsibilities- Strong, hands‑on technical knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Document review and inter‑disciplinary coordination
- Develop or assist in the development of studies, programs, concepts, preliminary and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale
- Prepare, review and approve drawing, specifications and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentation documents to technical documents for building permit, tender and construction and technical reports
- Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes, standards and applicable regulations
- Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes, design and quality standards
- Lead project coordination with multi‑disciplinary teams, both internal to AECOM and external. Provide leadership by coordinating the work of others
- Interface with clients, authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project
- Work with AECOM design offices across the country, including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects
- Proactively identify and advocate for improvements to existing processes and procedures. Adjust to new processes or changing assignments, and consider alternative approaches to complete work
- Complete assigned work independently and receive general guidance and direction on new projects, tasks and priorities
- Check own work and the work of others
- Team player with the ability to work within a team environment
- To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the below requirement, at a very minimum:
- No less than a University Degree in Architecture and four years of experience in a professional architectural office.
- Registered with AIBC as an Architect or an Intern Architect
- Preference for those with over six years of experience
- Experience with Building and Places is a definite asset
- Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and strong communication abilities are essential
