The team includes a Senior Director, an Audit Manager, two audit team leads, seven senior auditors, and two administrative staff, and works closely with the medical consultant, medical inspectors, legal counsel, data analysts, and others across the ministry. Their work has a clear impact—recovering ineligible payments and supporting the long-term sustainability of the Medical Services Plan.

It’s a skilled and collaborative team that stays flexible and consistently supports one another.

The Role

As a Medical Consultant, you’ll use your clinical experience to support fair and accurate billing across the health care system—reviewing audits, advising on cases, and helping guide important decisions. You’ll be part of a thoughtful, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, diverse perspectives, and meaningful impact. This is a role where your expertise supports not just policy, but people—helping strengthen trust and fairness in health care for both practitioners and patients.

  • Experience with research and data analysis.
  • Experience with managing MSC Payment Schedules
  • Experience working in the health care system in British Columbia or elsewhere in Canada.

Preference will be given to candidates who identify as Indigenous (e.g., First Nations, Métis or Inuit).

  • In recognition of the critical importance to this role of a lived understanding of Indigenous communities, history, values and cultural competencies, the above preference statement will be applied in the final ranked order for those who identify as Indigenous throughout the hiring process.
