Salary$19.53/hour
Responsibilities- Review interdisciplinary literature in therapeutic recreation, mental health, employment, skills training, and peer work.
- Use Mendeley to track and input collected literature.
- Write an annotated bibliography of collected literature.
- Conduct, transcribe, code, and analyze one‑on‑one interviews using NVivo.
- Attend research team meetings.
- Participate in drafting research manuscripts.
- Currently enrolled in, or have successfully completed, THRT 3710 or a related research course.
- Other research experience is an asset.
- Enrolled in at least one 3‑credit Douglas College course during the term.
- Or last term enrolled in at least one 3‑credit Douglas College course and intends to enroll in the next term.
- Or enrolled in at least two 3‑credit courses at another accredited B.C. post‑secondary institution during the term.
- Or last term enrolled in at least two 3‑credit courses at another accredited B.C. institution and intends to enroll in the next term.
- Full‑time student at Douglas College throughout the academic year.
- Or an international student at another accredited B.C. institution with a valid study permit permitting off‑campus employment as per R186 (F), (V), or (W). Proof of enrollment is required.
An original copy of a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and an original Study Permit are required by law before commencing work at Douglas College.
Qualified Douglas College students meeting the above criteria will be given first preference over students of other qualifying institutions.
Terms and Hours- Work terms:
Fall 2025 September 2 – December 15, 2025;
Winter 2026 January 5 – April 24, 2026;
Summer 2026 May 4 – August 16, 2026. - Hours:
up to 20 hours/week, total of up to 40 hours across the term.
