BCGEU Faculty, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category E (Electronics)

Position Summary:

The School of Transportation at BCIT is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member to deliver the approved Transport Canada and Canadian Council of Aviation and Aerospace curriculum for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category E (Electronics). The role is based at the Aerospace Campus in Richmond.

Responsibilities
  • Teach, evaluate, and prepare for delivery of both theory and practical activities.
  • Perform administrative duties such as grading assignments, projects, quizzes, exams and other student evaluations.
  • Maintain and enhance the curriculum.
  • Communicate and collaborate with department heads, faculty, program assistants, and support staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practical skills required to instruct all aspects of the approved curriculum under Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace (CCAA) and Transport Canada.
  • Apply knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) 566 and its relation to the AME licensing system.
  • Support the delivery of programmes in all related duties.
Qualifications
  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License Category E.
  • Five years of industry experience (preferred).
  • Previous industry or post‑secondary teaching experience (preferred).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online learning systems.
  • Track record of effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Provincial Instructor Diploma (VCC or other post‑secondary institutions) or completion of BCIT Instructional Skills Workshop (preferred).

Salary Range

$78,133 – $115,805 per annum.
