As a native ASL user, you will deliver specialized instruction and professional development to Education Assistants and educational teams. You'll lead ASL assessments, create resource videos, and collaborate on community events. Your experience in public education and strong communication skills will foster a supportive environment for diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ASL services to students directly and via video conferencing
• Organize professional development workshops for staff
• Support Education Assistants with immersion and conversation groups
• Conduct ASL assessments for students and staff
• Collaborate on creating ASL resource videos for educational use
Requirements:
• Native ASL user with bachelor's degree in a related field
• At least three years of K-12 public education experience
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Experience supervising and evaluating staff
• Willingness to travel throughout BC
Utilize your ASL expertise to enhance bilingual education in the Burnaby School District.
