The Student Success team leads an integrated portfolio encompassing enrolment management, student recruitment, marketing and communications, student engagement, advising, and core academic programming. Its mandate is to advance the Faculty’s academic mission by stewarding the full student lifecycle—from prospective student outreach through program completion—ensuring coordinated, data informed strategies that strengthen program quality, enhance the student experience, and support institutional enrolment priorities.

Through collaborative partnerships with faculty, staff, and university-wide units, the department fosters an inclusive, student centred environment that promotes access, belonging, and success.

About

The Role

The Director, Student Success is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, evaluation, and operation of student admissions, engagement, and retention through leadership of the administrative supports and services for the Faculty of Education’s program areas. The role supervises staff to ensure a motivating, supportive and inclusive work environment; participates on cross-functional teams and task forces. The role liaises with the Faculty’s academic and administrative leadership and with Student Services to deliver and continuously improve services to students.

The role develops performance measures and benchmarks to assess program and service effectiveness, analyzes data and reports results and recommendations to key stakeholders. The role plans for optimal enrollments, including revenue generation and budgetary considerations; manages strategic planning; and forecasts resources across multiple program‑area budgets.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Education, Business Administration or other relevant discipline and seven years of related management experience in student enrolment management, academic advising, student engagement and success and data analysis; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of strategic planning including enrolment management, resource planning, marketing and communications and initiative execution.
  • Excellent knowledge of student success theory and research, including models of student retention, academic progression, and transitions across the student lifecycle.
  • Excellent knowledge of recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management theories, best practices and strategies, including assessment.
  • Excellent knowledge of University policies and regulations related to student engagement, student development, and student services. Excellent knowledge of multi-program administrative frameworks, including the ability to develop and maintain standard operating procedures across diverse program areas.
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian elementary, secondary and post-secondary education systems.
