Lead exciting canoe instruction for all ages with the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department in Deer Lake. This role focuses on delivering engaging lessons, guided tours, and safety management.
The City of Burnaby is seeking experienced outdoor Contract Canoe Instructors for community and school programs. Instructors will create enjoyable learning environments while managing participant attendance and safety concerns. Your expertise in canoe instruction and safety standards will ensure a high-quality experience for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver creative canoe lessons and guided tours
• Manage participant attendance and prepare necessary materials
• Address site safety concerns and uphold safety standards
• Complete required incident and attendance reporting
• Perform related work as needed
Requirements:
• Experience in outdoor recreation programs and instruction
• RCABC Flatwater Instructor Certification required
• Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license preferred
