Position: Cultural Presenter at School District No. 40
Location: New Westminster

Promote Indigenous cultural learning in schools with School District No. 40 in New Westminster. As a Cultural Presenter, you'll foster understanding of Indigenous cultures while working collaboratively with students and staff.

In this role, you’ll work under the guidance of the District Principal of Indigenous Education. You will develop and deliver engaging workshops reflecting the traditions of the Qayqayt First Nation and other cultures. Building relationships with Indigenous families and local communities is crucial, ensuring enriched cultural programming across schools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and present Indigenous cultural workshops for students

• Foster understanding through storytelling and art

• Collaborate with teachers on curricular goals

• Support culturally responsive learning environments

• Engage with Indigenous parents and community partners

Requirements:

• Grade 12 graduation and relevant post-secondary education preferred

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and histories

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to adapt presentations for various audiences

• Valid BC Driver’s Licence and ability to travel between schools
