Join Douglas College in Coquitlam as a Career Coach and assist learners in the construction sector. Champion participants in achieving their apprenticeship training goals and career success.
As a Career Coach, you will play an essential role in enhancing job readiness among Douglas College's program participants. Your main focus will be to support individuals in navigating the pathway toward careers in the trades through tailored assessments and career guidance. You'll also engage in ongoing case management and foster strong relationships within the community to aid participants effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruit participants through effective program marketing
• Support individualized action planning and assessments
• Prepare individuals for trades apprenticeship training
• Conduct research to inform clients about industry trends
• Identify and address barriers to employment
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in employment services
• 3-5 years of facilitating career development services
• Knowledge of the trades and Skills for Success as assets
• Excellent communication abilities
• Willingness to travel within Lower mainland
