Location: New Westminster
Join School District No. 40 as an Indigenous Outreach Worker, dedicated to enhancing educational experiences for Indigenous students in New Westminster. Use your skills in outreach and community engagement to foster trust and support.
Reporting to the District Principal, you will work collaboratively with students and families, employing culturally responsive practices to address barriers to school success. Your efforts will involve implementing re-engagement plans tailored to individual needs while fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with Indigenous students and families to build trust
• Develop and implement individualized re-engagement plans
• Collaborate with education staff and community agencies
• Conduct regular home visits and outreach activities
• Collect and analyze data to track student progress
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Studies or relevant field
• Two years of experience working with Indigenous communities
• Proven knowledge of Indigenous cultures and histories
• Experience with case management and community partnerships
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
