Working closely with school teams, you’ll tailor educational strategies for students with visual impairments, drawing on your classroom experience and specialized knowledge. Your expertise in braille and technology will be key to student engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in crafting inclusive learning experiences
- Mentor new team members for enhanced support
- Teach literary, Nemeth, and UEB braille codes
- Provide alternate instructional materials and technology
- Conduct functional vision assessments for students
- Diploma or Master’s in visual impairment education
- Previous classroom teaching experience essential
- B.C. Teaching Certificate (current or eligible)
- Proficiency in assistive technology applications
- Valid driver’s license required
Contribute to shaping inclusive education for visually impaired students in a supportive Burnaby community.
