Position: Indigenous Cultural Presenter for Schools
Location: New Westminster

Elevate Indigenous awareness in education as an Indigenous Cultural Presenter with School District No. 40. This part-time position invites candidates passionate about cultural learning for students and staff.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Indigenous Education Department to create and deliver innovative cultural learning experiences, focusing on the local Qayqayt First Nation and other Indigenous cultures. Your work will support curriculum development, help foster inclusive environments, and engage Indigenous families and communities. This collaborative effort enhances students' connection to their heritage and boosts educational engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and present Indigenous cultural educational experiences

• Work with teachers to align programs with curricular standards

• Facilitate school-wide Indigenous programming and events

• Collaborate with community and family stakeholders

• Keep accurate documentation of cultural activities and workshops

Requirements:

• High school diploma with post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies preferred

• Knowledge of local Indigenous cultures and histories

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Must have a BC Driver’s Licence and the ability to travel

• Capacity to adapt materials for varied audiences
