The British Columbia Institute of Technology is searching for a temporary Assistant Instructor for its MSc and BSc programs in Ecological Restoration. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in ecological restoration, along with environmental science and fish and wildlife management skills. The role involves supporting applied learning experiences, guiding students in fieldwork, and collaborating on ecological projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing applied ecological projects for students
• Support all-day or week-long field trips for practical learning
• Train students in field equipment usage for assessments
• Consult with learners on logistics and project development
• Manage promotional and program development activities
Requirements:
• BSc in ecology or a related field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Experience with environmental field assessments
• Familiarity with GIS software and GNSS tools
