Job Description The Department of Asian Studies teaches a variety of courses relating to East Asia, South Asia, South East Asia and religions from those areas. This posting is for individuals with the ability to teach the courses listed below for the fall semesterASIA 1120:
Religions of the East Online, AsynchronousASIA 1140:
Cross-Cultural Perspectives I M&W: 12:30-14:20
ASIA 2250:
Buddhism M & W: 10:30-12:20
ASIA
2260:
Asian Mythology W: 18:30-21:20
Course content and learning outcomes are established for each course. The instructor will be responsible for updating content, preparing lectures and slide decks as needed, drafting, and marking assignments/quizzes/examinations, holding office hours, and communicating with students through email regarding the course material. In addition to the teaching responsibilities, the instructor will be expected to be available to participate in departmental activities and meetings.
Required Qualifications
DegreeM.A. (minimum) or Ph.D. (preferred) in Asian Religious Studies, Asian Studies or related disciplines
Required Skills Demonstrated post-secondary teaching experience of both online and in-person courses related to the courses above
Available to teach during the schedule above
At least advanced or near native level competency in one of Asian languages and recent research experience in Asia Additional Info:

Salary Range Placement:
Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
