Adult Literacy and English Educator

Location: New Westminster

Contribute to adult education at New Westminster Schools as a Literacy Foundations English Teacher at Pearson Adult Learning Centre. Focus on equipping diverse learners with vital literacy and numeracy skills.

This 0.2 FTE position involves developing courses for adult students needing to achieve graduation or improve their foundational skills. The role requires collaboration with a dedicated teaching team and includes flexible evening hours to accommodate students’ schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach courses aiming for adult graduation requirements

• Foster literacy and numeracy skills in all learners

• Collaborate closely with fellow educators

• Plan educational curricula with clear assessments

• Tailor approaches for students with unique needs

Requirements:

• Must have a valid BC Teachers Certificate

• Experienced in teaching adult learners and Literacy Foundations

• Competent in creating personalized learning plans
