Education Specialist at Aunt Leah's

Location: New Westminster

Empower youth as an Education Specialist with Aunt Leah's. Support young people in overcoming educational barriers through individualized planning and advocacy.

In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with youth and young parents to help them achieve their educational goals—from adult upgrading to post-secondary education. Utilizing a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, you will navigate education systems, financial supports, and community resources. Your dedication to advocacy and empowerment will foster self-advocacy and life skills among participants, ensuring they gain the confidence needed for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized education planning and support

• Advocate for participants with schools and community partners

• Facilitate workshops that build self-advocacy skills

• Connect participants with tutoring and financial aid resources

• Maintain accurate documentation for educational plans

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in relevant social sciences

• Experience in education mentoring or youth engagement

• Strong communication skills with diverse youth

• Ability to undergo necessary criminal record checks

• Knowledge of BC education systems and resources
