The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Douglas College is looking for a part-time regular probationary instructor. You will teach a variety of courses ranging from introductory university transfer physics to astronomy. The position involves 2.0 sections in Fall 2026 and 4.0 sections in Winter 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct and facilitate learning in college physics courses

• Evaluate student progress and provide academic guidance

• Plan and organize effective learning activities

• Maintain learner-centered instructional quality

• Develop curriculum for introductory physics and astronomy courses

Requirements:

• M.Sc. degree in Physics or related field (Ph.D. preferred)

• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level

• Ability to teach evening introductory astronomy classes

• Understanding of diverse student backgrounds

• Strong English communication skills
