Part‑time teacher‑tutor position at Oxford Learning New Westminster (
New Westminster, British Columbia
). Hours are after‑school and evening (3:00 pm–8:00 pm) with occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts. This is an in‑person role; relocation packages are not available.
- Employment type:
Part time - Pay: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
- Schedule:
Evenings, Monday‑Friday, Saturday and Sunday availability
- These teacher‑tutors are trained in Oxford Learning’s proprietary philosophy and methods; pre‑planned lessons are provided.
- Reliable, able to teach up to three students at a time.
- Must be able to commute to the New Westminster location and work in‑person.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 1‑12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math (Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus) and science (vectors, physics, chemistry, biology)
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at grades 1‑12 (or equivalent)
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels
- Conduct lessons in‑person (online components were previously available but not part of this role)
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
