ASL and Deaf Studies Teacher K-12

Seeking an ASL and Deaf Studies Teacher for the British Columbia Provincial School for the Deaf, where you'll support K-12 students in a full-time ongoing role devoted to Deaf culture.

The Burnaby School District is looking for an experienced Deaf Studies/ASL Teacher. Ideal candidates will hold a valid BC teaching certificate and a Bachelor of Education Degree. A master's degree in Deaf education or CAEDHH certification is preferred for this role, along with required ASL fluency that enhances student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language

• Promote strong self-identity and learning outcomes

• Participate in school events to support inclusion

Requirements:

• Valid BC teaching certificate or eligibility
