Position: Biology Lab Student Assistant Role
Location: New Westminster

Participate in hands-on biology experiences as a Student Assistant at Douglas College's New Westminster Campus. Support lab operations and deepen your understanding of biology while engaging with faculty and fellow students.

As a Student Assistant, you will directly contribute to lab activities, assisting with general cleanliness, animal husbandry, and preparing lab materials. This role is perfect for biology students looking to network within the academic community and acquire practical skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and clean the biology lab effectively

• Perform animal husbandry: feeding and cleaning

• Engage in Green House work: watering and pruning

• Prepare necessary chemicals for weekly labs

• Assist in microbiology labs after training

Requirements:

• Preferred candidates are biology students with completed coursework

• Must be enrolled in Douglas College or another accredited institution

• Maintain academic enrollment throughout the work term

• Strong communication and teamwork skills required

• Flexible to work up to 20 hours per week
