Teaching Positions for BSW

Join NVIT in Burnaby, BC as a Term Instructor and immerse yourself in teaching Indigenous-centered social work. Courses will be offered face-to-face this Fall 2026.

NVIT is looking for passionate educators to lead courses like SOCW 306 and SOCW 402 in its Bachelor of Social Work Program.

Your role will involve connecting with Indigenous adult learners and applying culturally relevant teaching practices to foster success. Candidates must demonstrate experience in Indigenous social work or related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct SOCW 306 and SOCW 402 in Fall 2026

• Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Utilize Indigenous social work frameworks in teaching

• Develop connections with local Indigenous agencies

• Enhance the community life of the school

Requirements:

• MSW degree is mandatory

• Two years minimum teaching experience at the university level

• Background in working with Indigenous learners

• Knowledge in Indigenous social work techniques

• Competency in using Moodle and Microsoft platforms
