BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment is seeking a
full-time, temporary (1.0 FTE ) Faculty, Piping
. This position could lead to longer term employment. If you want to share your expertise, knowledge, enjoy teamwork, have an innovative approach, and a proven track record in industry, we would like to hear from you.
- Classroom instruction to apprentice, entry-level or Industry Services students.
- Shop and laboratory instruction and supervision.
- Administrative responsibilities, including assignments, examination marking, and student evaluation.
- Curriculum maintenance and program enhancement.
- Administrative processes required to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver training.
- Other duties directly related to the instruction of trades and vocational programs.
- Input into development of modifications to workshop and instructional areas.
- BC Trades Certificate of Qualification/Red Seal endorsement in the following:
- Plumber
- Gasfitter “Class B”
- Additional qualifications enhancing your application but not required:
- Gasfitter “class A”
- Steamfitter/Pipefitter
- Sprinkler-fitter
- Five years’ current work experience as a journeyperson in the Plumbing trade.
- Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach.
- Effective command of the English language – both written and oral.
- Experience working with apprentices in a supervisory role.
- Ability to work as part of a team and develop a collegial environment.
