Purpose of Position

The Early Years Program Coordinator will play a key role in delivering Lightwell Learning's Early Years programming including program coordination, one-to-one instruction, and social programs for learners Pre-K to grade 3.

The position combines individualized instruction, small-group facilitation, family engagement, and resource coordination within a neuroaffirming, strengths-based, and evidence-based framework. The successful candidate will collaborate with families, educators, behavioural interventionists (BI), speech-language pathologists (SLP), occupational therapists (OT), and other professionals to foster learning, belonging, and success.

All these programs are designed to foster the creation of a nurturing, inclusive, and strengths-based environment where children of all developmental stages and abilities can thrive.

The Early Years Program Coordinator will play a key role in delivering three of Lightwell Learning’s Early Years programs, serving children and families from preschool to early elementary years.

RISE One-to-One:
Individualized educational support for learners in Kindergarten to Grade 3.

Early RISErs: A play-based, family participation program for children ages 3 to 6 (Pre-K and Kindergarten).

Brain Buddies: A small-group social learning program for learners in Grades 1 to 3.

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to work closely with preschool-aged and early years children, their families, and other early years professionals to support children in these crucial years of their learning journey.

Principal

Roles and Responsibilities Program Delivery & Instruction
  • Facilitate engaging group programs for preschool and elementary-aged learners
  • Deliver individualized one-to-one instruction in person and online using play-based and explicit instruction strategies.
  • Develop and implement learning plans, activities, and support strategies tailored to learner strengths and goals.
  • Support the development of literacy, numeracy, executive functioning, self-regulation, social-emotional skills, and confidence.
  • Create inclusive, welcoming learning environments that encourage participation and engagement.
  • Support learners with transitions, sensory needs, and diverse learning profiles.
Family Engagement & Communication
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and caregivers.
  • Model and share practical strategies that support learning and development.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, goals, and participation.
  • Prepare observations, progress updates, and reports as required.
Program Coordination & Resource Management
  • Support program enrollment, scheduling, and participant communication.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and program documentation.
  • Coordinate learner information and support plans with team members.
  • Assist with program setup, organization, and resource management (including Lightwell Learning's Lending Library).
  • Participate in team meetings, planning discussions, and program evaluation.
  • Uphold Lightwell Learning policies, procedures, and values.
