Urban Academy is currently inviting a dedicated, team-oriented Educational Assistant to join our support team in Junior School for the  school year.

As an Education Assistant, your responsibilities include:

Provide classroom support and small group instruction under the guidance of classroom teachers and Student Services team.

Provide playground and classroom supervision during breaks and transitions as well as other duties assigned by the Junior School Principal.

Qualifications and requirements:

Be legally entitled to work in Canada

EA certificate

Have an excellent rapport with children guided by trauma-informed practices

Related experience working in a school setting

Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Flexibility to work across a range of grades and disciplines

Experience in using Google Suite for Education for documentation and communication, and assistive technologies to support students with accommodations

Current Safety Awareness & First Aid for Childhood Emergencies Certificate

Clear Criminal Records Check

Preferred qualifications, experiences, and dispositions:

ECE or ECEA certificate

Inclusive Education diploma

Urban Academy provides:

Competitive compensation and annual salary ranging of $47,500 - $57,000, inclusive of vacation pay and commensurate with qualifications and years of experience
