Associate Dean of Language and Literature

Location: New Westminster

Lead the Faculty of Language, Literature and Performing Arts at Douglas College, providing impactful oversight and direction. This role combines leadership with strategic planning and faculty support in a hybrid work setting.

As Associate Dean, you will be pivotal in administrative leadership. Collaborate with the Dean, faculty, and staff to enhance program development, budgeting, and academic standards.

Your role involves managing schedules, handling grievances, and ensuring a productive faculty environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day leadership to faculty and staff

• Coordinate planning, program development, and reviews

• Manage budgeting and evaluation processes

• Oversee scheduling and academic standards compliance

• Address complaints and appeals effectively

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline preferred

• Minimum three years in an administrative role

• Five years of post-secondary teaching experience

• Proven record of supporting creative scholarly activities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
